BedandBreakfast.com, based in Austin, Texas, is the most comprehensive global site for finding bed and breakfast properties, with more than 12,000 properties worldwide, representing nearly 80,000 rooms. It is owned by HomeAway, Inc., the worldwide leader in online vacation rentals.
Trout Point Lodge of Nova Scotia counts among the winners of BedandBreakfast.com’s 11th Annual Awards for Canadian B&Bs and inns. Finalists were chosen based on a qualitative and quantitative analysis of traveler reviews on BedandBreakfast.com from the past year, and winners were selected by an independent panel of guest judges:
Caroline Morse, senior editor for SmarterTravel
Stirling Kelso, freelance travel writer and editor
Jessica Plautz, travel editor for Mashable
Laura Motta, director of publishing for ShermansTravel
Jo Piazza, managing editor for Yahoo Travel
The list of winner can be viewed at: http://www.bedandbreakfast.com/info/travelers/awards/regional-awards/top-10-canada-bbs-of-2015 Other Nova Scotia winners include Hillsdale House and the Queene Anne Inn, both in Annapolis Royal. Trout Point Lodge is located in Yarmouth County, adjacent to the Tobeatic Wilderness Area.
Both Nova Scotia and Britich Columbia scored highly in the competition in terms of the number of properties honoured. Trout Point had previously won the honour in 2012 and 2013, but that was before the professional media panel started scoring the entries.
